A Morpheus8 treatment is an outpatient procedure. Neither anesthesia nor intravenous (IV) sedation is used. The procedure is performed using the following steps:
A topical numbing cream is applied to the area(s) of the face that the patient wishes to improve
A device delivering radio frequency energy through micro-pins is used to deliver the RF energy within the skin surface
The radio frequency device has tips with various depths. Your service provider selects the tips and pins to increase or decrease the amount of radiofrequency the patient’s skin receives. This customized treatment approach allows the specialist to provide patients with maximum results. Total procedure time is usually one and a half hours-two hours depending on the size of the skin area treated.
-
Following their procedure, patients may return to normal daily activities. The minimal amount of swelling and bruising that is associated with the procedure is easily controlled using ice packs. Patients may feel that their face is a bit tight after their procedure. If present, this feeling will go away a few days. Total recovery time for a Morpheus8 treatment can often be less than an hour.
• CLEAN – Use a soothing cleanser or face wash with lukewarm water to cleanse the face and gently pat dry the treated skin until it heals. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area.
• HYDRATE – Use a gentle moisturizer or healing ointment on the treatment area until skin heals.
• MAKEUP – Can be applied 2 days after the treatment. Clean makeup brushes prior to using.
• PROTECT – At 24 hours after the procedure, you should apply a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen with a SPF30, AT ALL TIMES when you will be outside. Use a physical sunscreen (Zinc/Titanium Dioxide) daily. Do not use chemical sunscreens (oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and octinoxate).
• Reapply often→In addition to reducing your future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.
What to avoid:
To ensure the proper healing environment, be certain to observe the following:
• For at least 48 hours post treatment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.
• Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for at least 24 hours. No tanning beds.
• Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
• No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments are harmful, rife with bacteria, and may cause adverse reactions.
-
• Immediately after your treatment, you will look and feel like you have a moderate sunburn
• Skin may feel warm and tighter than usual
• Skin may crust and peel for 3-7 days after treatment
• Redness and swelling may last for 3-4 days

Patients will notice that their face looks much better after their procedure. Over the course of recovery, collagen tightens and patients see improvements in their facial appearance. Their face is lifted and volume is added to lax areas. Skin complexion also improves. Six short weeks after their procedure, patients will see their final results. A Morpheus8 treatment or series of treatments can make a patient look decidedly younger.
MORPHEUS 8
How does Morpheus8 work?
Morpheus8 works by introducing radiofrequency technology to gently heat facial skin after micro-lesions are performed to help restore and resurface connective tissues. When it is heated to forty-two to forty-three degrees Celsius, collagen, which is the main structural protein in connective tissues, breaks down. Over the course of six-weeks, collagen that is broken down during a Morpheus8 treatment reforms and connective tissues become much tighter and stronger. The face is lifted and volume is added to hallow areas.
Is Morpheus8 considered a noninvasive or minimally invasive treatment option?
A Morpheus8 treatment does not involve an incision or the removal of any body tissue; therefore, Morpheus8 is a non-invasive treatment option.
How many Morpheus8 treatments will I need?
The amount of Morpheus8 treatments a patient receives depends on the following:
The patient’s visible signs of aging
The patient’s goals and desired outcome
The opinion of the Morpheus8 specialist
The definitive way for patients to know how many treatments they will need is to arrange and attend an initial consultation.
