What is a typical day like for you?

Pre-covid times, I was super busy (which I loved). I would work all day, go to basketball practice, and fit in college courses along the way. Since the pandemic started, I work the 9-5 and head home to make some sort of dinner. Being newly married, I’m kind’ve new to the kitchen. Thank goodness my husband is such a wonderful cook. :’) While Jordan studies for school I usually watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I know, ridiculous, but I live for the drama!

Who is someone you admire and why?

My dad. He has been my best friend growing up. My mom would tell me that he took care of me more because I was such a hard child, she couldn’t handle it! Oops. It’s always been me and my dad. He taught me basketball at a small age and it’s been our thing ever since. He coached me in junior high and high school - and he recently got the college coaching position and now he coaches me there. Going through school, he was the vice principal in my junior high and then my high school. I would always use his office as my locker and always wrote for free food at the cafeteria (added to his tab, of course). I get emotional talking about my dad. When we’re at a basketball game and a certain warm up song comes on, we literally find each other in the audience and play the drums to the beat of the music. He is my biggest fan in life and will forever be my best friend.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I would be out at my grandparents house playing games and eating food with all my cousins. Covid has taken that away from me and I miss it a lot.

Or I would be at a basketball game with a full crowd of people and cheering! …That is one of the top things I miss since the pandemic started: family and big crowds. I can’t explain the joy I feel when I get to go to a basketball game!

What causes do you care about?

I care about self-confidence, I want every girl out there to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. In the world we live in today, especially with social media, it is so easy to compare yourself to others. We need to build each other up and love each other! Be yourself and love those around you.

What is something people may not know about you?

I wear my emotions on my sleeve. I can NOT hold back tears when they start coming. Ask anyone that knows me…they’ve seen me cry. My mom always tells me that I have the most tender heart she’s ever seen. Very often if someone else is crying, I will join them. It’s contagious to me.
