Founded in December 2010, we set out with a distinct vision for the beauty industry: to create an upscale space where everyone, regardless of who they are, what they do, or what they wear, feels welcome, cared for, and leaves feeling their best.

We understand that sometimes, walking through the door is the hardest part. That’s why we’ve built an experience that’s comfortable, approachable, and effortless from beginning to end.

In May 2017, we moved from our original location near Costco to our current home by the casino. While the space has changed, our passion hasn’t. We remain committed to offering a refined, elevated experience that supports your personal health and beauty goals.

Meet our Team

Sherrie is Prim’s Guest Services Manager. She loves books, food, cocktails, hiking, golfing, and soaking up the sun on her deck. She’s not a fan of slow walkers, slow drivers, the sound of knuckle cracking, or anything to do with cold weather. A longtime admirer of Dr. Gabor Maté, his book In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts sparked her deep interest in the brain and human behaviour, a passion that has grown into a home library of neuroscience and neurology books.

Jerilyn is the heart behind Prim, an entrepreneur, people-person, and passionate community builder. With a background in agribusiness and a deep love for connecting with others, she founded Prim in 2010 with the vision of creating more than just a beauty studio. She wanted to build a place where people feel safe, seen, and supported—a space that feels like a group of friends cheering you on. Whether she’s chatting with long-time clients or welcoming someone new, Jerilyn believes in real talk, shared stories, and the kind of encouragement that sticks with you long after you walk out the door.

Kristi Wolsey

Kristi has been in the salon world since she was 12 years old, starting out by answering phones, sweeping floors, and assisting stylists. After graduating from hair school in Calgary, she’s been working behind the chair ever since 2002. What keeps her going after all these years is the genuine connection she shares with her clients. They’ve become like family to her, and she truly loves and adores every single one. Whether it’s sharing stories, good laughs, or even surprise Starbucks runs, her chair is a place where people feel at home.

Raised alongside three sisters and now raising a family of her own, Jerilyn pours that same sense of warmth and belonging into everything she does. She’s passionate about helping people grow, both professionally and personally, and is a firm believer in the power of good habits, living in the moment, and finding joy in the little things (especially a great coffee in the Lethbridge sunshine). When she’s not at Prim, you’ll likely find her following her son's sports, dreaming about summers in Montana, or planning her next adventure with her husband and kids.

Outside of work, Kristi’s passion is her family. She and her husband love spending time together, and their three daughters keep life full and fun. When she’s not at the salon, she’s all in with her crew. Her heart also belongs in Montana, where the mountains and pine-scented air bring a sense of peace and freedom she can’t quite put into words. Kristi surrounds herself with kind, humble, and inspiring people—those who live their truth and help her grow.

Personally, Sherrie is proud of the life she’s built with her husband, Randy, and their family. With their kids now grown and beginning new chapters of their lives, she and Randy spend as much time as they can visiting them in Calgary, Lethbridge, and Vancouver. Randy is also Prim’s go-to handyman, a role Sherrie deeply appreciates. Her approach to life is simple—don’t spend time on things just because you think you should. Be thoughtful with your energy and how you spend it.

Chantal was born and raised in South Africa and moved to Canada at 21. These days, she calls Coaldale home, though her unmistakable South African accent still sparks curiosity wherever she goes. With more than 15 years of experience in aesthetics, Chantal’s passion for skincare comes from personal experience - struggling with acne and melasma has shaped her empathy and deep understanding of how skin concerns can affect confidence.

Ty has been a Registered Nurse for over seven years, with experience in mental health and addictions, critical care, travel nursing, interventional radiology, and aesthetics. At Prim, she’s known for building strong connections with her clients and going above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and supported. She understands that coming in for treatments can bring up nerves, uncertainty, or even guilt, and she’s committed to helping each person feel at ease. Ty’s goal is to make a positive impact and help you walk away feeling more confident.

With over a decade of experience supporting new families through the often tender and challenging moments of infant feeding, Dr. Appleton brings both expertise and empathy to every interaction. Clients frequently comment on how supported and unjudged they feel in her care. Beyond infant nutrition, her passion has grown to include skincare, healthy aging, and lifestyle medicine. From gut health to cellular wellness, she’s committed to helping women feel their best from the inside out.

Dr. Erin Appleton

Outside of work, Ty is passionate about health in all forms. You’ll often find her staying active at CrossFit, being mindful of her nutrition, and learning how to keep growing mentally, physically, and emotionally. She also loves baking (especially at Christmas), watching reality TV, spending time with her cats, and being on her family farm. Ty works hard so she can enjoy life, whether that means making memories with loved ones or planning her next adventure. She hopes to return to Dallas someday and is dreaming of a honeymoon in Greece—complete with sunshine, great food, and maybe a few cats along the way.

At home, her heart belongs to her family. She’s a proud mom of three boys and never misses a school PD day, making the most of the flexibility that comes with running her own practice. Raised as the oldest of four sisters, she credits her close-knit family for shaping who she is today. Whether she’s skiing in the Rockies, walking by water, or dreaming of salty air back home in Atlantic Canada, she’s grounded in gratitude and driven by a love for people. Her mission is simple - to support women in every season of life, celebrate their resilience, and help them glow from within.

Her greatest joy is her family. She’s a proud mom to a son and daughter, a grateful stepmom, and now a beaming Gran-Gran to two grandkids. Alongside her love for aesthetics and relationships, she’s packed a lot into her life so far—climbing in the Himalayas, skydiving, running a marathon, moving across the world, starting her own business, learning to ride a horse, and most recently, beating cancer. Whether it’s with clients, family, or friends, Chantal values connection above all and is always working to support the people in her life with heart, humor, and honesty.

Nikki is a Registered Nurse with over a decade of experience, graduating from the U of L in 2012. She began her career in a rural ER and acute care ward and now works in a local clinic, where she continues to serve the same tight-knit community. Her passion for nursing started early—tagging along with her mom to work with seniors, painting nails, baking, and spending time with those who needed it most. Nicole loves to blend her passion for medicine with the beauty industry. Helping people feel confident and cared for is what drives her, and she brings laughter and positivity to every appointment.

Nikki Benoit, RN

Marisa is a Registered Nurse and experienced injector who’s known for one thing above all else - she genuinely cares. She cares about your point of view, your budget, your comfort, and the results you’re hoping for. After earning her Bachelor of Nursing from the U of L in 2008, she spent ten years as a Public Health Nurse. In 2018, she completed her aesthetic training through PTIFA in Vancouver and has since brought that same patient-centered approach into her work in medical aesthetics. Marisa is big on communication and believes the best results come from open, honest conversations.

Grace is a lifelong book lover who could happily spend every day curled up with a good read. She spent 15 years dancing and still holds that part of her life close to her heart. Family means everything to Grace—they're her best friends, biggest supporters, and favorite people to be around. Her recent trip to the Bahamas reminded her just how much she loves the sun and ocean, and she’d go back in a heartbeat. While she’s not a fan of the cold, she’s embraced the warmth and connection she’s found at Prim, where she continues to grow in confidence every day.

Grace Wolsey

Grace looks up to her mom more than anyone, both in work and in life. Getting to work alongside her has shown Grace just how lucky she is to have such a strong, kind, and funny role model. Though she still gets anxious making calls or walking into places alone, working at Prim has helped her find her voice and connect with others more comfortably. She believes everything happens for a reason and cherishes the people around her, knowing how much they shape who we become.

Outside of work, Marisa is all about showing up. She doesn’t make rigid goals but aims to live without regret, enjoy life’s simple pleasures, and stay active and healthy. She loves fresh food from the garden, laughing with her five kids (especially when they get along), camping, long baths, and driving her rusty 1978 Bronco in the summer. Marisa has a deep admiration for people who have lived through hard things and often finds herself inspired by stories of resilience, especially those told by her dad. Just don’t ask her to enjoy winter sports - she’s happiest in the sunshine.

Outside of work, Nicole is most proud of the family she and her husband have built. Their three kids keep life busy and full, and seeing their personalities and values shine through makes her one proud mom. She’s a long-time volleyball player, loves camping and travel, and is always up for live music, comedy shows, or a good meal with people she loves. Mini eggs are her weakness, especially the Costco-sized bags, and she swears she’d give her left foot for one (kind of). Whether she’s at work or at home, Nicole brings energy, heart, and a great sense of humor to everything she does.

Tara has been a Registered Nurse since 2004, starting her career in California before moving into Day Procedures and Endoscopy. She’s worked in IV sedation, skincare treatments, and now aesthetic injectables. Tara is passionate about helping people feel better, whether through medical care or confidence-boosting treatments. She’s known for her honesty, efficiency, and ability to keep things fun while getting the job done.

Sarah brings over a decade of healthcare experience—and a deep passion for helping people feel their best—to her role at Prim. With a background in nutrition, nursing, and now as a Nurse Practitioner, Sarah takes a personalized, root-cause approach to wellness. She’s especially passionate about hormone health and helping clients restore energy, balance, and confidence through evidence-based care that’s as thoughtful as it is thorough.

Hannah brings heart to everything she does—whether she’s chatting with clients, creating a relaxing treatment experience, or helping someone see their own beauty a little more clearly. With a diploma in Aesthetics and nearly four years of salon experience under her belt, she’s passionate about building confidence from the inside out and believes that everyone deserves to feel their absolute best.

Tara Lehman, RN

Outside of work, Tara’s all in on family life. She and her husband are raising two busy boys, ages 9 and 7, and she proudly wears both the hockey sister and hockey mom titles. When she’s not cheering from the sidelines, Tara makes time for travel, golf, hiking, and the occasional home reno project—often with help from her carpenter dad. She’s a loyal friend who checks in often, and a self-described lover of TMI and too many mini eggs. A perfect night? A movie, a glass of wine, and some chocolate, shared with her husband.

Hannah's favourite part of the job is the connections. Hannah has a natural gift for conversation and makes everyone feel seen the moment they walk through the door. Outside of Prim, you’ll find her dreaming of future travels with her husband, soaking up time with family, and finding joy in everyday moments. Her long-term goals include building a family and exploring the world—starting, if she had her way, with New Zealand. For now, she’s focused on the little things that matter most: kindness, curiosity, and helping people feel beautiful in their own skin.

Rachel has been practicing massage therapy since 2007, with training rooted in Eastern healing methods like Thai energy massage, Balinese massage, Asian stone therapy, and myofascial cupping. She’s also completed nearly 500 hours of yoga teacher training, which she often blends into her sessions by offering personalized stretches to help clients feel better, longer. Her passion for healing is matched by her love for her clients and the space she works in.

Kara has been in the aesthetics industry for nearly 16 years, continually building on her education to offer the best experience possible. She’s known for putting her whole heart into her work, whether she’s offering a relaxing facial, a fun group pedicure, or creating confidence through microblading—her favorite creative outlet. Her clients often say they leave feeling like the best version of themselves, and that’s exactly what Kara loves most about what she does.

Though she’s been officially certified for just over a year, she’s long been the go-to girl in her circle for nails, brows, and beauty touch-ups—which means stepping into the industry felt like the most natural next step. Whether she’s perfecting a fresh set or trying out a new technique, Emma brings passion, skill, and a serious love for her craft into every appointment.

Outside of work, Kara’s greatest joy is her family. She stays active with her two kids through hiking, biking, and even doing races together. She also has a passion for transforming spaces and would happily spend her time making homes feel more peaceful and functional. Whether she’s perfecting her craft or enjoying the simple moments at home, Kara is always finding ways to grow, create, and share joy with the people around her.

Known for her organization and attention to detail, she loves the challenge of creating smooth systems and solving problems behind the scenes. While she may not interact directly with clients, she thrives on working with Prim’s encouraging and adaptable team - and loves being part of such a positive environment.

Shelby grew up on her family’s cattle ranch near the Carway border, surrounded by animals, nature, and her sisters. With a family full of hairdressers and aestheticians, she naturally fell in love with the beauty industry and began her career in 2020. She’s passionate about helping her clients feel confident and beautiful and is always learning new techniques to stay inspired and up to date.

Skylar is a Skin Therapist at Prim with a deep passion for helping people feel more confident in their skin—both inside and out. Known for her calming presence and product knowledge, she brings a thoughtful, educational approach to every appointment. Whether she’s walking a client through their new skincare routine or tailoring a treatment to suit their unique needs, Skylar is most often complimented on how clearly and confidently she communicates the “why” behind the process. Her goal is always to empower clients to better understand their skin and care for it with intention.

Since graduating and stepping into the industry, Skylar has been committed to continuing her education, learning the science behind new ingredients, and growing her skill set with each passing season. Outside of the studio, you’ll find her soaking up time with the people she loves most: her close-knit circle of family and friends. Raised by hardworking parents who taught her the value of persistence, Skylar brings that same dedication to her work every day.
