BOTOX & dysport

Neuromodulators (Botox & Dysport) are naturally purified proteins that prevent the release of acetylcholine from the presynaptic nerve terminals, and limit muscle contraction.

Preparation

As with any medical-grade treatment, bruising is possible. To help reduce the risk:

• Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.
• Avoid alcohol for 1–2 days prior (sorry!).
• Discontinue Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, and Vitamin E for 10–14 days prior to treatment.

Your Appointment

A few quick pricks and you’ll be on your way—most appointments are done in minutes.

• Small bumps at the injection sites are normal and typically disappear within an hour (ice helps!).
• Keep in mind: full results may take up to 2 weeks to appear.

Aftercare

• Book any facials before your injections, not after.
• Avoid bending forward or strenuous exercise for at least 4 hours post-treatment.
• Wear sunscreen and sunglasses to protect your skin and avoid unnecessary facial movement (like squinting).

Downtime

There is no real downtime. You may see small bumps at injection sites immediately after treatment, but they typically resolve within an hour.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers, also known as injectable implants, soft tissue fillers, lip and facial fillers, or wrinkle fillers are medical device implants approved by the FDA for use in helping to create a smoother and/or fuller appearance in the face, including nasolabial folds (the lines extending from the sides of the nose to the edges of the mouth), cheeks, chin, lips, and back of the hands.

Preparation

As with any medical-grade treatment, bruising can occur. Here are some tips to help minimize it:

• Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.
• Avoid alcohol for 1–2 days beforehand (sorry!).
• Refrain from taking Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, and Vitamin E for 10–14 days before treatment.

Your Appointment

Your provider may apply a numbing cream depending on the sensitivity of the area being treated. During the injection, you may feel slight pressure or a few small pokes.

Swelling at the injection site is common and usually subsides within 48–72 hours.
Bruising may appear shortly after your appointment and typically fades within one week.

Appointment Length

Filler appointments typically take between 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area treated.

Downtime

Results are visible immediately, but initial swelling can make the area appear more dramatic than the final outcome.
Allow up to two weeks for swelling to fully settle before assessing final results.

Aftercare

• Schedule facials before your filler appointment—not after.
• Try to avoid sleeping on your stomach for the first few nights post-treatment to reduce pressure on the area.
